Sakine Ovacıllı, who completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Ankara, graduated from Hacettepe University Physics Engineering in 2003. Ovacilli, whose field of expertise is Occupational Health and Safety, completed her Master's Degree at Hacettepe University / Department of Public Health / Occupational Health Program.
Between 2004-2007, she started to work as an OHS Specialist at the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, General Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety, Market Surveillance Department. She worked as an OHS Specialist in the same department between 2007-2011. She worked as Market Surveillance and Inspection Branch Officer between 2011-2017, Education Department Branch Officer between 2019-2020.
She completed her OHS specialization thesis on "Occupational Health and Safety Situations of SMEs, Approaches of SMEs to OHS, Risk Perception and Identification of Knowledge, Attitudes and Behaviors and OHS Management Models" and completed her master's thesis on "Determination of Health and Safety Status and Working Conditions of a Five Star Hotel in Ankara".
Ovacilli's professional interests are Personal Protective Equipment, Market Surveillance and Inspection, OHS Trainings, Project Management, Small and Medium Enterprises, OHS in the Tourism Sector, OHS Research and Analysis, Scientific Research and Publications, and Improving Occupational Health.

Ovacilli, who speaks English very well, has been the Head of the Institute since June 2020 and is married with two children.
