Activities Of General Directorate Of Occupational Health And Safety And Isgum Were Told In Macedonia

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary celebrations of The Institute of Occupational Health, World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre and the 14th Southeast European Employee Health Network meeting organized by Prof. Dr. Jovanka Bislimovska in Skopje, Macedonia on 28-29 June, a delegation representing our general directorate participated.

Nine southeast European countries (Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Greece) participated in the program, which was organized by Macedonian Minister of Labor and Social Policy Mrs. Mila Carovska and Director of Macedonian Institute of Occupational Health, Mr. Alajdin Memedi. The meeting highlighted the achievements and challenges of the WHO Global Health Plan of the WHO Workforce 2008-2017 and the UN Sustainable Development 2030 Targets at national and regional level.

A meeting was held with Mrs. Dr. Elizabet Paunovic, Head of the WHO European Environmental Health Centre, on the terms and conditions for establishing a WHO Occupational Health Collaborating Centre in Turkey.

In addition, Vice Chairman of ISGUM Mr. Uğur Öztürk held a meeting with Gönül BAYRAKTAR, Deputy Minister of Macedonian Labor and Social Policy.

The event concluded with a desire to continue increasing cooperation in the field of occupational health for a healthy working environment.
