The Occupational Health and Safety Research Project (İSGAP) by Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, General Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety, Presidency of Occupational Health and Safety Research and Development was completed.
General Director for Disabled and Elderly Services and Former General Director of Occupational Health and Safety Op. Dr.Orhan KOÇ stressed the importance of occupational health and safety issues and stated that there are distances to be taken to prevent occupational diseases and occupational accidents. KOÇ also pointed out that 110,000 disabled people worked in the private sector and explained the benefits of drafting documents on occupational health and safety.
General Director for Disabled and Elderly Services and Former General Director of Occupational Health and Safety Op. Dr.Orhan KOÇ also explained that accessibility to the workplaces is one of the priority objectives and that the issue of occupational safety should be expanded more widely in order to enable the disabled people to participate in business life.
Vice General Director of Occupational Health and Safety Burhanettin KURT stated that this project plays an important role in the promotion of ISG culture in sectors where occupational health and safety culture is not sufficiently developed. KURT also said that work accidents and occupational diseases were indispensable areas of struggle in our country as well as in our country.
Head of the Institute for Occupational Health and Safety Research and Development, Erol TEKÇE shared data on the outputs of the project.
Erol TEKÇE stated that the project was realized with 2 million budget and said ” In 5 sectors 56 firms and 2 thousand 667 work hygiene, physical and chemical sectors, 604 health screening were conducted in 9 province. Within the scope of these health scans, 5 thousand 778 employees had a hearing test and a toxicology test was carried out to 482 employees.”
Erol TEKCE stated that the trainings were given to occupational health and safety experts in the provinces as part of the project. He also stated that 5 sector guides have been published on this subject and İSGAP report will be shared with the public in the coming weeks.
President the Health Presidency of the Health Care Department Ahmet ÖZLÜ emphasized that the other sectors also need to evaluate the results of this Project and said “It is important to continue the practices that may be taken as an example in this area. The Ministry of Health, together with the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, conducts studies dealing with occupational exposure, especially in the process of returning to occupational diseases.”
At the closing of the project, General Director for Disabled and Elderly Services and Former General Director of Occupational Health and Safety Op. Dr. Orhan KOÇ, Vice General Directors of Occupational Health and Safety Burhanettin KURT, Furkan YILDIZ and İSGÜM President Erol TEKÇE presented the certificates of appreciation and ended the program.
