Yenimahalle District National Education Director Tamer KIRBAÇ and Vocational High School Directors Visited ISGUM
In the meeting held in İSGÜM Conference Hall, the school principals were informed about occupational health and safety concept in vocational high school students. The content of he meetin was to raise awareness on issues such as safety culture, to learn the dangers in this area before embarking on working life, to adopt safe behavior models and to ensure that the future workforce is healthy, safe and productive.
ISGUM President Erol TEKÇE made the opening speech of the meeting and said that when the studies conducted both in our country and developed countries are examined, the frequency of occupational accidents and occupational diseases is higher among young workers. He also stated that OHS education and culture should be given in the school life in order to prevent possible occupational accidents and diseases in the future, especially regarding the dangers that may be encountered in workplaces when graduates of vocational high schools start to work immediately.
Tamer KIRBAÇ, Yenimahalle District National Education Director, said that it is necessary to give applied OHS trainings to vocational high school students from the 12th grade in order to have knowledge about school environment, internship environment and occupational risks that they may encounter in their working environment when they graduate and OHS culture. He expressed his thanks for the support that will provided by İSGÜM in this field.
After that FWSS Experts Sakine OVACILI and Mert DURŞEN made presentations on ISGUM promotion and security culture and ISGUM Museum, Virtual Reality Education Center, Psychotechnical Analysis Laboratory, PPE Test Laboratory, Asbestos Education Center and Mobile Health Screening Tools were visited.
